NAN: The Trifling Times of Nathan Jones

NAN: The Trifling Times of Nathan Jones, is the riveting story of a troubled black male from Brooklyn , New York that was forced underground after warring with a corrupt NYPD unit in the 1980's. Fortunately for Nathan Jones (also known as Nan ), he survived the attempt to end his life, and lived to tell his tale.

But, to understand what Nan became, you have to take the time to fully understand what he was forced to become. At the tender age of thirteen, Nan witnessed the brutal murders of his parents, at the hands of a drug crazed PCP addict. This tragic event resulted in his childhood being stolen from him, and what remained of his teenage years being spent in an orphanage.

As he struggled to deal with his loss, a police officer named Mark Carson entered his life and became the father figure that he desperately needed. He was also introduced to another youth, named Joseph Hayes who happened to be an orphan as well. Their bond was immediately cemented, when they both discover that they share an unfortunate similarity. On the same fateful night, the same man murdered both of their parents.

The two youths became inseparable blood brothers, with Mark Carson serving as their mentor and surrogate father. Unfortunately, as the prospects for the future began to look more promising, tragedy rears its ugly head once again. This time, Nan is reeled into a deadly game of cat and mouse that threatens to destroy everything around him.


Once Upon A Time In Harlem

Once upon a time in Harlem there was a man named, John Williams that single-handedly conspired and plotted to eliminate all of his competition on the uptown streets. Through the use of brute force and calculated moves, he was able to control all illegal activity from numbers to the drug trade. John was an intelligent thinker, manipulative and cunning. And as those that crossed him would find out, he was a cold-blooded killer as well. But, John wasn't always that man. When he moved from South Carolina with his younger brother Sam, he had dreams of escaping the racism that was prevalent in the south, in order to provide a better life for his family. But, what he quickly found out was that racism still existed in the north, and the opportunity well had also dried up. With his back against the wall and no money in his pockets, John concocted a scheme to rob a local hustler-that went horribly wrong. Blood was now on his hands...and a price was on his head. The events that transpire from that moment on will have John and Sam pitted against some of Harlem 's most notorious gangsters. With their lives on the line, sacrifices will have to be made. John has dreams of providing a better life for his family, but at what cost? Will he and Sam be lured in by the sex, drugs, money and other dangers of the uptown streets? Only time will tell. In the city that never sleeps, Nathan Nan Jones,a young man that never slept, just survived a vicious assassination attempt on his life. On the same cold streets of Brooklyn, Jada Dupri, a Black girl lost, desperately searches for some meaning to her convoluted life.

Nan's execution was sanctioned by the criminal underworld, in an elaborate plot to be carried out by a corrupt group of bloodthirsty NYPD killer cops. Even though he barely lived through the attack by the skin of his teeth, everything that meant something to him was stolen away in less than a New York minute. He had survived,but his mere existence may only be short lived. A massive manhunt has ensued, and the word has been put out on the streets to bring him in dead or alive. The clock is ticking, and hes living on borrowed time.

Since Jada's birth, the beauty of her skin has been her sin and over time it became both a gift and a curse. She yearns to find the father she has never known, to develop a relationship with her mother that she has never had and to feel the unconditional love that she so desperately needs.

Even though these two individuals will never meet, and their paths will only cross on one fateful night,the critical decisions they both make will greatly impact the lives of one another.

After all, just like you and me, they are both merely pieces in the Game of Trife.
